Access raffles
Access raffles are most effective when a host has one or more of the same item in high demand and wants to ensure that everyone has a fair chance of purchasing. Instead of the host giving away prize, winners are instead issued "access links" which allows them to purchase the advertised item.
How it works
1. The host creates a raffle
The host will create a raffle and provide information about the item that can be purchased, including photos/videos, a description, and a purchase price. They will also choose how many tickets are available, how much they cost, and when the raffle will end. Once approved, it will be published on the website.
2. The raffle will run
The raffle will run until the given end date, during which users will be able to purchase raffle tickets. To be eligible to enter, each user must first answer a question for legal reasons. Every correct answer will be placed into the final anonymous draw.
3. When the raffle ends an automated draw is made
The raffle ends when all of the tickets are sold or the end date is reached. We will contact all ticket holders once the raffle finishes. An automated draw occurs 15 minutes after a raffle has ended. We contact all ticket holders to inform them if they have won or not.
4. Access links are issued
The winners' email will include a URL, which is known as a "access link". This is a unique link for each winning ticket that, when clicked, takes the winner to a page where they can provide their shipping address and pay for the advertised item. This link will expire on successful payment or once the hosts specified time period days has expired. The money goes into Raffaly's holding account.
5. Packaging and postage
When a payment is successfully processed, we instantly notify the host. They will then handle the packaging and postage, and may contact the winner if necessary. Hosts can also view all access links by logging into their account, which will also give them details on status and shipping addresses.
6. Hosts can withdraw there money
In addition to notifying the host of a successful payment via email, we make the money available to the host for withdrawal. In the same email, we provide the host with a URL where they can withdraw the funds from our holding account. Withdrawal can also be done from the hosts account when viewing issued access links. In cases where the Raffle is held entirely for a charity, Raffaly will distribute the money directly to the nominated charity.
7. Squarespace order (optional)
If you have a Squarespace shop, we can send orders directly to your website. After a successful payment, we will automatically create an order on your website and deduct it from your Squarespace inventory.
