Our commitment to safe participation

At Raffaly, we believe that online raffles and competitions should be fun, fair, and safe for everyone.

This page explains how we protect our users, the limits we have in place, and where to find help if you need it.

We're committed to responsible participation and aligned with UK harm reduction standards recommended by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS).

18+ only – Why this matters

All participants on Raffaly must be 18 years of age or older.

This isn't just a legal requirement – it's about protecting young people from participating in activities that could lead to problematic behaviour.

We display the 18+ badge prominently across our platform as a constant reminder of this requirement.

If you're under 18, please do not create an account or purchase tickets. Accounts found to be used by minors will be closed immediately.

Entry limits – How we protect you

Per-competition ticket limits

Every competition on Raffaly has a maximum tickets per user limit.

By default, users can purchase up to 5% of available tickets for any single competition. Competition hosts may set stricter limits if appropriate.

This limit ensures:

  • Fairness – no single user can dominate a raffle
  • Harm reduction – prevents excessive spending on a single competition
  • Transparency – you'll always see the maximum allowed before you buy
How limits are displayed

When you're purchasing tickets, you'll see a clear message:

"Maximum of [X] tickets allowed"

This limit is enforced automatically at checkout. If you reach the maximum, you'll be notified and directed to this page for more information.

Applies to all competition types

Entry limits apply equally to:

  • Traditional raffles – standard ticket-based competitions
  • Access raffles – direct purchase prize access
  • Daily drops – free daily prize draws (one entry per day)

These protections ensure responsible participation across every part of the platform.

Safe participation tips

We encourage all users to follow these principles:

  • Set a budget – Decide how much you're comfortable spending before you start browsing.
  • Never chase losses – If you don't win, accept it and move on. Don't keep buying more tickets to try and "win back" what you spent.
  • Take breaks – Step away regularly. Don't let raffle browsing take over your day.
  • Don't borrow money to play – Only use money you can afford to lose.
  • Be aware of your feelings – If participating makes you anxious, stressed, or secretive, it may be time to stop.
  • Talk to someone – If you're worried, speak to a friend, family member, or contact a support service (see below).

Are you playing safely? Self-assessment

Ask yourself these questions honestly:

  • Have you spent more than you intended on raffle tickets?
  • Do you feel the need to buy more tickets immediately after losing?
  • Have you borrowed money or used funds meant for bills to buy tickets?
  • Do you hide your raffle activity from friends or family?
  • Has participating in raffles caused stress, anxiety, or arguments?
  • Do you think about raffles constantly throughout the day?

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, please reach out for support using the resources below.

  • Support signposting – help resources clearly available

We continuously review our policies in line with guidance from the UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) and the Gambling Commission.
